This is an opportunity to have a huge impact on the design of deliverables and work with a small, dynamic US-based company. We work in a casual and supportive work environment and meet regularly online (Skype, Uberconference). We are looking for talented individuals to work in East London, South Africa. However if your skills meet the needs of the project, we are open to a telecommuting arrangement.

Start Date: Immediate
Hours: full-time contract opportunity with 5 day work weeks, public holidays and annual leave. The contract is for 230 x 8 hour work days a year which roughly equates to 46 work weeks and 6 weeks off (vacation and public holidays). We are generally flexible with work hours and work days provided you are available for scheduled meetings.
Work location: Primary office location is East London, SA. Home office/remote team members will be considered.

What You Will Be Doing
• Working with a diverse team and clients in the US and developing countries to discuss requirements and development progress
• Designing, developing and implementing bespoke desktop and web software solutions from requirements phase to implementation
• Working with other team software developers, business analysts and testers to meet deliverables
• Designing and developing user interfaces and visual output for data analysis (dashboards, reporting)
• Source code management in a team environment
• Participating in defining and optimizing our software development process and best practices

What You Need for this Position
• Willingness to occasionally travel internationally to clients (developing countries – usually 1-3 weeks per trip max)
• 5+ years of experience with front end development (7+ preferred)
• Expertise with various Web Front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Jquery.
• Good understanding of CSS and responsive user interface frameworks such as Bootstrap.
• Experience with multiple software development frameworks, languages and coding methodologies (at least two or more modern technologies preferred – e.g. node.js, Angular.js, golang, Php, .Net, Docker, MVC, etc.). A keen interest to learn new technologies as required.
• Good relational database and SQL skills
• Some knowledge of NoSQL, SSAS or other OLAP advantageous
• Experience with coding for modern browsers including Firefox, Chrome, Edge and Safari.
• Good communication and time management skills
